running a blog like a blog

I've been stressing myself out too much by wanting every post here to be "official" in some sense (like, they're really not), and it's been preventing me from actually just writing. I haven't sat down to write in about a month, which is a problem given that the bulk of my job is writing.

I have quite a few things I've been wanting to write about, including but not limited to:

  • Introducing VTuber Studies
  • Introducing the org I want to start, called Luddinites
  • Talking about the alternate social media co-op that I want to first work on under Luddinites

I should probably make this blog actually easily navigable and organized and sensible to split out the more "official" posts and the more thought vomit type posts, but I should probably actually write things first.

I don't get how people write on their blogs and get other people to reshare and cite those posts, to be honest. I feel like I've written quite a bit in the past that just always feels too casual to cite. It's not peer-reviewed publications, after all. And yet... how come others who write on their blogs get credited with those ideas and cited and and and

I'm feeling conflicted about writing, to say the least
